I spent a few days in the South West of England, in Devonshire. Just me, my bike and my rain jacket 😉
Very recommended in this area: The book ’50 Hikes across Devon’, a lunch at the Warren House Inn, the Youth Hostel in Bellever (great fireplace and no mobile phone coverage!).
Preparations on the train!
These are Great Britains’s National Parks
The beautiful Exeter Cathedral

Harbour stroll in Torquary
Hike 1 – From Warren House Inn…
… past an old cross…
…. up the the first tor…
…. where you always find a pony having arrived before you…
… on through the blooming moor…
… passing a settlement from the Bronze Age (3500 years old)…
… appreciating the local humour…
… just to find a beautiful peaceful area where I took a dip in the lake.
Finishing the day with a locally produced delicious ice-cream.
Beautiful pics in the Princetown Visitors Center

The old Clapper Bridge of Postbridge
Hike 2 – After the fog cleared heading out of Princetown to the moor…
… across the high moor alongside this old Lead created to improve Plymouth’s water supply.
There are many legends around the moor. Most pubs also have a few!
And this Pub collects coloured paper from around the world.
Exploring the moor and it’s tiny roads…
… and impressive bridges across the Dart river….
… the granite stone slabs that can be found on every hill top.
Not without my rain jacket!
